About Me

Collage piece from spring 2011
Born and raised in Juneau, Giselle has grown up constantly integrated in the arts. She has many passions for the performing arts—music, theatre and dance—but visual arts, specifically painting, is her “healing passion.” When she paints it is about thought processing: allowing time for relaxation and understanding. These two pieces were creating after spending a winter in a small cabin in Fairbanks, Alaska. The absence of light created a need for warm colors and all things green and growing. As a result, all of Giselle’s works from the past year are warm, flowing, and organic, despite being painted in a dark cold space.
Tissue paper and acrylic collage.

Giselle graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA in 2010 and completed her K-12 Art Teaching Licensure Program through University of Alaska Fairbanks in the spring of 2011. She currently lives in Juneau.
